A former journalist, Celine Kearney is a teacher of English language and academic literacy skills, a researcher and a writer.
Celine Kearney is the daughter and granddaughter of South Island sheep farmers and North Island dairy farmers, now living in the Waikato. A former journalist, she teaches English language and academic literacy skills to adults of migrant, former refugee and international backgrounds. She is active in the Tertiary Education Union. A long-time Greenpeace member and a Forest and Bird supporter, she has been active in social justice issues, including the women’s peace movement, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and the Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Movement. A researcher and writer, she has a PhD in Educational Philosophy.
