Relentless mama, driven Māori health advocate, fearless smoke-free champion, proud Māori Women’s Welfare League member, unapologetic equity leader.

Teresa Butler (she/her) Christchurch East

As a Māori/Danish wāhine, I carry the strength of my whakapapa and the voices of my whānau, hapū and community. For over 25 years, I’ve worked on the frontline of hauora in Christchurch, supporting whānau through inequity, addiction and broken systems. I’ve delivered community programmes, partnered with Marae, and built trusted relationships across the Māori health sector, hapu and iwi.

I bring over a decade of campaign experience, winning against the odds through people power. I stand for pay equity, safe communities, and Te Tiriti justice. I’m not here to fit the system — I’m here to transform it, for our tamariki and our future.
